Andy Caroll has returned to training at West Ham.
The Daily Mail says the former England star missed the majority of last season due to an ankle problem that eventually required surgery.
He was released by the Hammers earlier in the summer when his contract expired - but the east London club have opened their doors to the injury-stricken forward as a gesture of goodwill as he recovers from the problems that ruined his final season at the London Stadium.
There is no prospect of Carroll being handed a contract by West Ham.
But the club felt compelled to welcome former striker Carroll back to their Rush Green training ground to help him resurrect his career.
