Andres Guardado in line for new deal with Real Betis

Andres Guardado is in line for a new deal with Real Betis.

AS says although he does not enjoy many starts, the Mexican midfielder is once again becoming a key player for Manuel Pellegrini, who sees him as a senior member of the dressing room.

With his current deal running down, Guardado is now in contention to extend his contract with the club.

No one from the club has yet contacted Guardado or his agents about the renewal. He still has offers from both Mexico and Major League Soccer, which has tempted him in a big way in recent years.

But his priority is to stay at least another season at Heliópolis, where he feels very much at home.
