Anderton tells Spurs: Grealish and Zaha won't offer anything

Tottenham legend Darren Anderton has urged the club to prioritise a move for Fulham wing-back Ryan Sessegnon.

Anderton says Tottenham should forget about Jack Grealish (Aston Villa) and Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace) and instead go for “perfect" signing Sessegnon.

Speaking to Sportingbet, the former England international said: “Jack Grealish wouldn't improve Tottenham's team and they've got better players in his position already.

“We've seen from his performances for Aston Villa this season that he's a very talented player but he isn't good enough to walk straight into their starting team.

“Grealish certainly has the potential to develop into a top, top player and he would fit the Spurs ethos, but if he joins it would very much be as a squad player.

Wilfried Zaha wouldn't get in Tottenham's starting team and he would be too expensive to sit on the bench."

He added: “Ryan Sessegnon would be the perfect signing for Tottenham.

“He has had a tough season with Fulham, not quite reaching the heights that everyone expected of him but he is a young player who is learning the game and Pochettino would get that out of him.

“He is a player who has been talked about for a long time, and someone who has been linked with Spurs a couple of times before."
