New Sunderland signing Russell Anderson admits an early injury has been frustrating him.

After featuring against Cork, the defender said: "It has been really frustrating to have to wait so long to make my debut.

"I've had to bide my time, but at last I've played - and played the full 90 minutes.

"But the main thing is that I will be fit for the start of the season.

"There's only about 10 days until the season starts and it will come around really quickly.

"All the boys are looking forward to it, but we have two more friendly games first and there's still a chance for the players to get more minutes under our belts."
