Anderlecht resigned to losing Man City striker Lukas Nmecha

Anderlecht are resigned to losing Lukas Nmecha at the end of the season.

On-loan from Manchester City, Nmecha has been outstanding for Vincent Kompany's Anderlecht this term.

His goals had fired Anderlecht into the Champions League playoffs, but defeat to Genk has ended their hopes of reaching the qualifying round.

Voetbal24 says the loss also ends Anderlecht's hopes of keeping Nmecha.

The Germany U21 international wants to keep progressing at this stage in his career and will now seek to move to a more competitive league next season.

Nmecha is on a straight loan with Anderlecht, with the deal not including a permanent option, and has enjoyed career best form this season. The striker has 19 goals in 39 games so far this campaign and also has produced three assists.

Nmecha is contracted to City until 2022. While a Germany U21 international, he also represented England at youth level from U16 to U21. With City, Nmecha has played three times, making his Premier League debut in 2018.
