Anderlecht fans rally and urge Man City striker Lukas Nmecha to stay

Anderlecht fans are urging on-loan Manchester City striker Lukas Nmecha to stay.

The Manchester Evening News says Anderlecht fans have unveiled a banner at the club's training ground trying to persuade City loanee Nmecha to stay into next season.

The 22-year-old is enjoying his best spell away from the Etihad after frustrating loans at Wolfsburg, Preston and Middlesbrough in the previous two seasons.

Now, though, under City legend Vincent Kompany, Nmecha has 14 goals in 26 appearances as Anderlecht sit fourth in the Jupiler Pro League.

Nmecha's form has apparently delighted Anderlecht fans, but there is a bittersweet element to their support as games have been played behind closed doors, so they are yet to see Nmecha play in the flesh.

Fan group Mauves Army have unveiled a banner at the training group saying: "Lukas, you didn't had (sic) the opportunity to meet us. Stay one more year!"
