Anderlecht boss Kompany fighting to keep hold of Liverpool target Doku

Anderlecht boss Vincent Kompany is fighting to keep hold of Jeremy Doku amid fresh interest from Liverpool.

Doku has confirmed Liverpool's long-term interest in his signing, but Anderlecht are doing all they can to keep the Belgian international on board for the foreseeable future.

The 18-year-old already has two club goals this season, and netted his first goal for the senior Belgium side in September.

While Liverpool have reportedly continued to monitor the teenager after failing to snap him up earlier in his career, Anderlecht are keen to secure Doku's longer term future with a new contract.

HLN says Kompany and Anderlecht have opened talks with the teenager's representatives over an improved deal.

Doku's current contract expires in 2022, and his club are believed to be keen to reach an agreement before he enters the final year of his deal.
