Carlo Ancelotti is ready to take the Aston Villa job this week.
The Mail on Sunday says Ancelotti hopes to celebrate his 52nd birthday on Friday as the new manager of Aston Villa.
The club's American owner, Randy Lerner, has made the Italian his first-choice candidate and he is expected in Birmingham this week to supervise the appointment.
Ancelotti was axed by Chelsea three weeks ago and is keen to continue working in England.
He is highly rated after winning the Double at Stamford Bridge and masterminding two Champions League triumphs at AC Milan.
