Carlo Ancelotti becomes the ninth coach to be sacked by Real Madrid president Florentino Perez in 12 years.
Perez announced Ancelotti's dismissal yesterday.
During the course of his two spells, the president has waved goodbye to Vicente Del Bosque, Carlos Queiroz, Jose Camacho, Mariano García-Remón, Wanderley Luxemburgo, Juan López Caro, Manuel Pellegrini, Jose Mourinho and Ancelotti.
Perez argued yesterday: "The position of a manager is a permanent role made difficult with the passage of time. I encourage you to look at managers at Spanish sides like Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid, and at foreign clubs like AC Milan, Inter and Chelsea, and you will see that it is a position that suffers regular changes."
