Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti is targeting Napoli midfielder Stanislav Lobotka.

TMW says Ancelotti has recommended Lobotka to Real president Florentino Perez ahead of the January market.

Ancelotti worked with Lobotka as Napoli coach and sees him as ideal cover for veteran pair Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.

Both midfielders are off contract in June, though Real are hopeful of securing the pair to new deals.

However, Lobotka is happy at Napoli and has just renewed his contract for more than €3m-a-year to 2027 - with an option to 2028.
