Shola Ameobi are due to be named Newcastle United's new loan manager.
The former Toon striker - nicknamed the Mackem Slayer for his goals in derbies against Sunderland - has been appointed in the newly created role, says The Sun.
Ameobi, who left Newcastle in 2014 after 14 years at St James' Park, never officially retired but has not played since he was released by Notts County at the end of last season.
And having done some part-time coaching at the Toon's academy, he is now back full-time and in charge of finding temporary moves for the club's young players.
