Ambrose unimpressed by Newcastle style

Former Newcastle United attacker Darren Ambrose is unimpressed by the football of manager Steve Bruce.

Ambrose was speaking after Newcastle's 1-1 draw with Wolves.

"The fans will not like that type of football," Ambrose told TalkSPORT.

"They will be very disappointed by the goal. Let's talk about the defending for the goal. It was a brilliant finish from Jimenez but the defending was awful.

"Their number nine, their best goalscorer, has dropped to the edge of the box unmarked and has controlled it unmarked from a corner.

"That is very poor defending and Steve Bruce will be very disappointed with how they handled that.

"They (the fans) won't like it. Newcastle are renowned for attacking football and to have hardly any shots on goal and the only goal was a free-kick that was basically given to them by Wolves.

"There is a lot of animosity around the owner, and rightly so, and I do feel for Steve Bruce a bit because he takes a lot of the flak and it is more against him than for him.

"But when you are serving up games like that then it is justified."
