Championship club Sunderland's hopes of re-signing Amad Diallo are not promising.

The Black Cats enjoyed the services of the Ivory Coast winger on loan this season.

Amad helped Sunderland to the Championship play-off final, but may be heading back to Manchester United for this season.

The winger will get a chance to impress boss Erik ten Hag and stake his claim for a first team spot.

While a loan may materialize later in the summer window, Sunderland do not believe they have a high chance of signing the player.

The Northern Echo states that at present, Amad is expecting to be a United first team player.
