Danny Allsopp and Kevin Muscat have tied for the 2008/09 Victory Medal in an exciting vote count at Peninsula in Melbourne's Docklands. The leading scorer and the skipper finished on equal votes in the championship winning season vote count with Allsopp's strike partner, Archie Thompson not far away in third.

Goalkeeper Mitchell Langerak was awarded best youth player whilst popular defender Rodrigo Vargas was awarded the Players' Player of the Year Award.

The Golden Boot award went to Allsopp who scored 13 goals for the season whilst the Best Clubman award went to youngster Evan Berger.

Radio station SEN also had an award for their player of the year which was a tie between Vargas and midfielder Billy Celeski.
