Allegri: AC Milan caught out on counter attack - again

AC Milan coach Max Allegri admits they were caught on the counter attack again in their 1-1 draw with Catania.

Pippo Inzaghi earned Milan a disappointing 1-1 draw, as Catania had taken the lead through Ciro Capuano's magnificent volley.

"Once again tonight we made the same mistakes and allowed too many counter-attacks, especially after we went a goal down," said the Coach.

"We should not have fallen apart like that, as there was time to recover the situation. We're still at the beginning and need to pass the ball around more cleanly."

Milan are already dropping off the Scudetto pace with just one point from two games against minnows Cesena and Catania.

"We ought to win at home and must certainly do better, especially in terms of a work ethic. We know Serie A is tough and every game is difficult, so we must learn patience and play like a mature side.

"I don't think it's so much a concentration issue as the fact teams who sit back and only go on the counter-attack will inevitably preserve energy. When tiredness sets in, the technique is also affected."
