Allardyce fears Tottenham striker Kane will become 'new Rooney'

Former England coach Sam Allardyce fears Tottenham striker Harry Kane is set to become the Three Lions' fall-guy.

Allardyce told TalkSport he thinks the Tottenham star is being singled out by the snipers because Wayne Rooney's move to MLS means he is no longer in their sights

Allardyce said: “What worries me is the amount of attention Harry Kane is getting negatively.

Wayne Rooney has left the country now after almost suffering abuse week in, week out, and I think it now seems to have shifted to Harry.

“'He's fatigued, he's not doing well, and he's not doing this or that…'

“There is obviously a case for fatigue, there's no doubt about that, as in every footballer that played at the World Cup so it's not just labelled to Harry.

“I suppose the only way he'll put it right is by scoring goals."
