Allardyce admits West Brom need 'fairy dust' to avoid relegation after Wolves draw

Sam Allardyce admits West Bromwich Albion needs 'fairy dust' to avoid relegation after the 1-1 draw with Wolves on Monday.

The Baggies went behind on the stroke of half-time when Fabio Silva's deflected strike went past Sam Johnstone.

They were able to level things after the break when M'Baye Diang powered home Conor Townsend's cross, but it was not enough for the hosts to boost their survival hopes.

Albion now need four wins from their final four games and hope one of the teams outside the relegation zone capitulate.

"We owe it to everyone to keep a professional attitude and go out and try to win every game we've got left and hope every team above us loses every game and then, by some magic miracle and some fairy dust, we stay up," Allardyce said after the game.

"I can't believe we haven't won or taken the chances we created. I'm very sad for the players they haven't converted this game into a victory.

"You look at Wolves' goal and say 'why can't we get a bit of luck like that?'"
