All square between LA Galaxy and Newcastle Jets at half-time

LA Galaxy and Newcastle Jets are all locked up at 1-1 at half-time of the Qantas Challenge exhibition match against in Australia.

Landon Donovan basically walked the ball into goals in the 7th minute after Sean Franklin's searching ball from the right flank found the captain unmarked in the area.

The Galaxy had a couple of other chances in the opening 45 minutes, particularly from Juninho, Michael Stephens and Edson Buddle whilst David Beckham's early free-kick was wide of the mark and a late drive from inside the area went whistling by the upright.

But the Jets looked dangerous and finally got their reward when Sasho Petrovski scored with a classy side-footed finish five minutes before the break.

Around 22,000 fans have turned up to EnergyAustralia Stadium in Newcastle in northern New South Wales for the event.
