The father of Erling Haaland insists he had no say on the striker's decision to join Borussia Dortmund.
The former RB Salzburg striker signed for Dortmund ahead of rival interest from Manchester United, which had been regarded as favourites.
It was suggested Haaland's father Alf-Inge and his agent Mino Raiola were behind the decision due to their demands of a cut of any future sale.
But Haaland Snr told VG: "It is always the player who has the last word. There are no more slave contracts. It was Erling who wanted to go there. We tried to make things right."
Asked directly about United, Alf-Inge added: "You have to ask Erling about that. There were, as you say, some clubs that were interested. We think Dortmund suited him perfectly. Fortunately things went well."
