Real Madrid are leaning towards focusing on a January deal for Arsenal attacker Alexis Sanchez.

While Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi is also an option, Don Balon says there's a growing belief amongst coaching staff and the board that Alexis would be the better option.

Off contract in June and not Cup-tied from the Champions League, Alexis would be a cheaper deal than Icardi. And for coach Zinedine Zidane, the Frenchman favours Alexis due to his versatility. Unlike Icardi, Alexis can play anywhere across the front three.

At Inter, Icardi is rated in the €90-100m class. However, inside the Real boardroom there is a confidence Arsenal will be prepared to sell Alexis for less than €30m.
