Chelsea are closing in on the completion of a £10million deal for Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato week, according to The Express.

The Blues have been linked with the Corinthians forward for some time now, but the shin injury sustained by main striker Diego Costa has forced the club to move fast for the former AC Milan man.

The 26-year-old scored 10 goals last season on a loan spell with Sao Paulo.

Pat has also been linked with the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham in the past but appears set to make his way to Stamford Bridge this week.
