Alexander Blessin explains leaving Oostende for Genoa

Alexander Blessin has explained leaving KV Oostense for Genoa.

Genoa have bought out the German coach's contract at KVO. Blessin will be in Genoa this morning to sign a contract to 2024.

“It all happened so quickly. In 24 hours it was all sorted, it is still difficult for me to comprehend," Blessin told the official KV Oostende website.

“I wasn't able to physically say goodbye to the players after the training session, because it hadn't been finalised yet. I will definitely contact them for a proper goodbye. I will miss the supporters here enormously, as they backed me through thick and thin.

“However, Genoa is an offer I simply could not refuse. This is a club with tradition in Serie A and I have been offered a long-term project there.

“It is a great step in my career, but I will always be grateful to KVO for the opportunity I was given here."
