Alex Denney has hopes of making a breakthrough at Everton.

With Tom Davies, Jonjoe Kenny and Dominic Calvert-Lewin all becoming part of the fold in recent seasons, Everton, more than most other Premier League outfits, offer the opportunity for progression that Denny craves.

"Everton are renowned for bringing through talent," he told the Liverpool Echo. "The pathway is always there. If you're good enough I'm sure they'll put you in and let you go on like those lads did as long as you show what you're capable of. It's there for you at Everton.

"I've been here for so long and it's my life. It was my dream to make my debut at the club I've been at since I was nine.

"The amount Everton have given me and everything they have done for me, that night in Cyprus was the perfect way to make my debut.

"It's the end goal to be playing at the highest level possible and really showing what you can do on the big stage, wherever that is.

"Hopefully it's at Everton. I want to show everyone what I can do."
