Former Juventus midfielder Alessandro Birindelli has slammed the club's 15 points penalty.

Juve were punished for financial irregularities.

Birindelli told TuttoJuve: "It was an unequal sentence, as there were many more clubs involved. Juventus couldn't make the capital gains on their own, there is always another party. I don't understand this total fury towards a club.

"If the successes are deserved, I don't see what the annoyance is. This has always been a forward-looking club and one step ahead of the others, I don't see why it should be penalised for the work done.

"Like everyone, I'm waiting for the reasons right now I can judge only what is real: for me the sentence is scandalous."

He added, "The footballer motivates himself, because while we talk about injustice on the outside, everything is expanded for them. There is anger, the desire to do well, with the hope that all this can be transformed into something positive to make them win the games."
