Toby Alderweireld suggests Belgium teammate Eden Hazard is up there with the world's best players when he is truly on song.

The Chelsea playmaker is beginning to rediscover his absolute best at Euro2016 culminating in a match-winning performance in the 4-0 victory over Hungary in the Round of 16.

Regarding the Red Devils captain, Tottenham defender Alderweireld has labelled Hazard a class act in the lead-up to the quarter-final clash with Wales on Friday.

"His confidence is growing, he's working hard to show what he can do and help the team and he was fantastic," said the centre-half.

"When he plays like he did today he's one of the best players in the world – he can compete with anyone.

"Hopefully he can keep this level up in this tournament."

Regarding Hazard's captaincy, in the absence of Vincent Kompany, Alderweireld added: "It's more what he does during the game.

"When something important happens he will come and say something, but not as much as Kompany."
