Al Sadd boss Xavi has reaffirmed ambitions of coaching Barcelona in the future.

Xavi turned down an approach from Barca over the New Year, insisting he wasn't ready for the job. However, the former Barca captain admits he sees himself eventually returning to the Nou Camp.

He told Marca: "I do not hide, and I have always said it, that's my main goal, when that happens, it is Barça.

"This is my home and it would be a dream. But now I'm focusing on Al Sadd, looking forward to the new season. When I have to come to Barça, short or long term, it will come.

"Above all, Quique Setién must be respected and I wish the team the best of luck."
