Al Fahim confident meeting Portsmouth fans' expectations

Prospective Portsmouth owner Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim is confident of meeting fans' expectations.

Al Fahim said: "I want to say that I have been very warmly welcomed here both by the club and supporters.

"I look forward to attending many successful matches at Fratton Park, as well as getting to know the city and its people.

"I'm pleased to be here and I plan to give the fans what they want."

The due diligence process is not expected to be completed until next week at the earliest.

But Pompey are already planning the way ahead, and Al Fahim has made it clear the first priority is securing the future of the out-of-contract players who are wanted at the club.

Al Fahim is staying coy on those details, however, as well as keeping quiet on his plans for a new manager.

He said: "We are currently conducting a thorough due diligence process into the acquisition of Pompey.

"I cannot, therefore, comment on the deal at this point. I can assure you, however, that as soon as this process is over I will be able to present my ambitious vision for the club's future."
