Ajax midfielder Frenkie De Jong admits he spoke with Holland coach Ronald Koeman about moving to Barcelona.

Koeman won the European Cup with Barca.

"Yes, I asked him a lot," De Jong replied when asked if he'd discussed the transfer with his national team coach prior to signing.

"I knew that he had enjoyed success there.

"I wanted to know what the city was like, what the daily life was like and what the club was like.

"It's reassuring to know these things before going."
