Ajax are prepared to dramatically drop their price to sell Donny van de Beek this summer.
It emerged over the weekend that Manchester United had had an offer of €50m accepted by Ajax for the midfielder.
Real Madrid are also interested in the Holland international and expected to make a counter bid.
However, The Times says Ajax are now willing to sell Van de Beek for a knockdown €40m in a clear sign that he will leave this summer.
Just last night, Ajax chief Edwin van der Sar admitted: "It's clear that clubs like Real Madrid and United are showing interest in Donny van de Beek."
