Manchester United legend Edwin van der Sar hopes that new boss Erik ten Hag can repeat the success he achieved with Ajax.

Van der Sar, a renowned shot stopper who won nearly every available trophy with United, is currently the CEO at Ajax.

While he may have been disappointed to lose ten Hag at the end of the season, he hopes that his countryman can become a resounding success at United.

"Wishing you everything what you achieved at Ajax in the four, five years and more at your new club," van der Sar wrote on Twitter.

"With the dedication, vision and your abilities as a coach/manager this should be achievable soon at Man Utd!

"Good luck and once again thanks for everything you did in Amsterdam!"
