Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt has hinted he'd choose Barcelona over Manchester United if it came to a straight choice.

Both clubs are keen on the youngster ahead of the January market.

Asked about the rumours regarding Barca and United, De Ligt said: "Ajax, newspapers need to write, that's normal."

He was then asked where he'd prefer to holiday - Barcelona or Manchester.

"Hahaha! Barcelona, I like the sun."

De Ligt was speaking after Holland's stunning 3-0 win over Germany last night.
