Ajax defender Joel Veltman admits West Ham United failed to firm up their interest this summer.

Veltman says the Hammers were in contact, but failed to follow with an offer.

“Everyone knows how I feel at Ajax. I still have a one-year contract, so it's always a matter of waiting. England is not going ahead anyway, of course," he told Inside Ajax.

"There was certainly interest, but it did not become concrete."

The Premier League deadline fell on Thursday.
