Ajax defender Joel Veltman was left frustrated with defeat to Chelsea.
Chelsea won the Champions League tie 1-0 thanks to Michy Batshuayi's goal.
“A messy game, it was waiting for a mistake or lack of attention from a team. Ultimately, it fell to us," Veltman told NOS.
“We were sloppy a few times, so they could counter and so you get that in British football. We also knew that from the games against Tottenham Hotspur, how it can go.
"Chelsea just looked really good. They put us under pressure, we didn't really get into our game. You hear of course sometimes: Chelsea is less, but they have plenty of money and plenty of good players. You could see that a couple of time."
