Ajax coach Erik ten Hag would welcome Spurs approach

Ajax coach Erik ten Hag would welcome an approach from Tottenham about the manager's job.

Football.london says that Ten Hag was interested in the role before his new deal at Ajax and remains intrigued even after putting pen to paper.

It's said however that Spurs did not follow up on their interest in the coach after initial discussions with him.

And the report adds it would be tough for the north Londoners to convince Ajax to part ways with Ten Hag so close to pre-season if they were to go back for him.

The Dutchman is among the favourites to become Spurs' new head coach, but he's joined by more realistic company.

Former Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde and recently departed Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo are thought to be the current frontrunners.

Ex-Tottenham player Jurgen Klinnsmann and Belgium manager Roberto Martinez are also in the conversation.
