Ajax paid tribute to Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen on the weekend.

The Dane was given a formal farewell after Ajax's game with SC Heerenveen.

"We knew right away: 'We have one'," said coach Frank de Boer. "But you've only got better and better. Now you play in the Premier League and if you succeed we will all be so proud."

Eriksen thanked fans for their support.

"I want to thank everyone for letting me play here."
