French club AC Ajaccio are preparing for the January departure of captain Jean-Baptiste Pierazzi.
The Ligue 1 outfit posted on their official website that the 28-year old midfielder, who kicked off his career with ACA in 2006, would be leaving Corsica for a MLS club this winter.
"American Football (United States Soccer Federation) proposed a contract Jean-Baptiste Pierazzi could evolve in the month of January in an American club," read a translated excerpt from ACA's website.
"The player announced the proposal to the leaders. He expressed the wish to respond favorably.
"The club has decided not to oppose his departure: it is very likely that Jean-Baptiste Pierazzi will leave the ACA at the beginning of the month of January," the website stated.
"AC Ajaccio will keep in memory the proud and loyal service of his emblematic captain."
It is not yet understood where Pierazzi will land but it appears as though a shift to North America is highly likely.
