Agent tightlipped on Man Utd talk for Lokomotiv Moscow midfielder Miranchuk

The agent of Lokomotiv Moscow midfielder Aleksey Miranchuk is tightlipped on reports linking him with Manchester United.

TMW says United are lining up a move for the Russia international midfielder - though will face stiff competition from Italy's Serie A.

It's suggested a €40m offer for Miranchuk is being prepared by United chiefs to burn off competition from AC Milan, Juventus and Lazio in January.

The news quickly made it to the Russian media, where Miranchuk's agent Vadim Shpiniev was asked about the reports.

However, when quizzed about the claims, Shpiniev offered little in response.

He was quoted by Sport-Express stating: "I'm not going to comment on rumours and someone's fantasies."

Miranchuk, 24, has played 21 matches for Loko this season and scored nine goals with four assists. He has spent his entire career with Loko and while regarded as a natural attacking midfielder, he can also play as a striker.

TMW reports his form with Loko in the Champions League this season brought him to the attention of United, where a bid is now being prepared to test the resolve of his Russian club.
