The agent of Roma midfielder Alberto Aquilani has cooled talk of a move to Liverpool.

"Regarding what you read in today's papers, there is no truth in it," agent Franco Zavaglia told Radio Incontro.

"Some have said that Alberto is heading for Spain or England, but the truth is it's just fantasy football.

"I understand that every day the media need to find something to talk about, but in this case there is absolutely nothing concrete."

However, Zavaglia did concede that Aquilani is a popular figure on the transfer market for the likes of Liverpool and Real Madrid.

"We have never been formally contacted by anyone, although I cannot deny that Alberto has always received interest and appreciation from many top clubs."
