The agent of River Plate wing-back Gonzalo Montiel has revealed a January offer from West Ham United.

Marcelo Carracedo admits interest from Europe ahead of the summer market has surprised him.

He explained to Radio La Red: “I thought that with the coronavirus pandemic the calls would have stopped, but requests for information are continuing to arrive.

"Any decision on his future will pass through the choices of (River coach) Marcelo Gallardo. He will play an important role.

"When I told him about the West Ham offer in January, he said that under those conditions he could not let him go."
