The agent of Cruzeiro fullback Mayke has confirmed Serie A interest.

Mayke has been linked with Inter Milan as a replacement for Jonathan.

"I can confirm that Italian teams have probed [for Mayke], but there hasn't been any negotiation, much less an official offer," agent Fabian Mello told Calciomercato.it.

"We'll see how things develop in the next few months. Cruzeiro is playing the [Copa] Libertadores and Mayke is an important player for them.

"As for my client's future, I want to clarify that Alex Garini is not authorised to speak in my stead or the player's," he said, in reference to Mayke's intermediary in Italy, who suggested Napoli as a possible destination."
