Celtic misfit Massimo Donati is a target for a number of Serie A clubs, claims the player's agent Andrea D'Amico.

Donati, a £4m signing from AC Milan, has failed to win over the Celtic faithful and was dropped before the end of the season.

And Donati's agent wants clarification from Celtic over the future of the Italian midfielder.

"There is strong interest from Serie A," confirmed D'Amico.

"Parma are in Serie B and he would not go there. I have to speak with Peter Lawwell to discuss the situation further.

"Massimo wants to stay if there is a chance to play, but if the manager is not happy and cannot give him that then he should tell us.

"As I say, I have more than one Serie A club asking me about the player."
