Mesut Ozil's agent has revealed the playmaker wasn't notified before his omission from Arsenal's Premier League and Europa League squads.

The German has not played for the Gunners since March 7.

His agent, Dr Erkut Sogut, says Ozil is determined to see out of the end of his contract, which expires next summer, despite their being interest from clubs in January.

Asked about how Ozil was notified about the club's decision earlier this season, Sogut explained: "I talked to Arsenal a few days before the transfer window and I told them about Mesut's feelings, his desire to stay and how much he loved the club.

"They never told me he wouldn't be on the list. It was a surprise to all of us and something that clearly hit him hard."
