The agent of Lazio striker Ciro Immobile has launched a furious attack on Italian football.

Marco Sommella has slammed the attitude of local identities after seeing Carlo Ancelotti lead Real Madrid to the LaLiga and Champions League Double.

Sommella told TMW: "We are in a country that considered Ancelotti finished and believed that he kept training just to go on vacation. Instead, with Real Madrid he has proven to be among the strongest coaches in the world."

Sommella commented on the absence of Immobile for the final two games of Lazio's season.

"And what can we do? The same Thursday the MRI told him that he should even wear a brace. I can't explain more, it was just a shame. When you have to point the finger, everyone is willing to do it, while when there is clearly something objective to applaud, in the sight of everyone, nobody does it. Perhaps many people have bad faith, with all due respect."

He concluded: "When Italy won the European Championship, the credit was given to everyone except him. While when they lost to Macedonia, the only culprit was Ciro. I recently told him that most fans, not only of Lazio, in general, will realise what he did in 7-8 years.
