The agent of Daniele Rugani has explained why the Juventus defender made the move to Rennes.

Rugani has joined the Champions League qualifiers on-loan for the season.

“Rennes had been interested for a while, but there weren't the conditions to make it work," agent Davide Torchia told Tuttojuve.com.

“We decided, in agreement with Juventus, to seek a solution that could enrich Daniele's experience and at the same time he wanted to remain on the Juventus books, so was not sold.

“Considering the fact there were relatively few transfers this summer, and the offers from Germany, England and Spain were holding back, we opted for this loan.

“Rennes are a top level team, they are growing, well-organised and will play in the Champions League this season."
