Agent of ex-Liverpool striker Duncan fined and banned by FA

The agent of Fiorentina striker Bobby Duncan has been found guilty by the FA for bringing the game into disrepute.

The punishment, which includes a six week ban and £10,000 fine, arrives after a statement made when the youngster was pushing to leave Liverpool.

Saif Rubie hit the headlines in the summer window as he tried to orchestrate his client's move from Liverpool to Fiorentina, which eventually went through to the tune of £1.8million.

In a statement before a deal was complete, Rubie claimed Liverpool were "bullying" Duncan, before saying the club had "damaged Duncan's mental health" by keeping him against his will.

The FA alleged that Rubie's comment on Twitter "brought the game into disrepute", and was "improper and/or insulting".

He will also have to complete an FA Education Programme within four months, reports the Daily Mail.
