Agent of Arsenal midfielder Ozil charmed by DC United owners

Mesut Ozil's agent Ergot Sogut has spent the week in Washington with DC United officials.

The Mirror says Sogut, has been shown around Washington as DC United look to woo the Arsenal star to MLS.

DC United are on the lookout for a replacement for Wayne Rooney, after the ex-England captain agreed to join Derby County in January.

And the MLS outfit are keen on World Cup winner Ozil, as they seek a replacement in 2020.

The 30-year-old's representative met with club chiefs Jason Levien and Sam Porter, as he undertook a fact-finding mission over a business deal - at a time when Ozil is thinking about plotting life away from the Emirates.

According to the Washington Post, the group toured the club's stadium, Audi Field, as well as the site of the club's side's proposed new training ground.

Ozil's reps have been seeking to open a branch of the coffee chain part-owned by the former German international - 39 Steps Coffee Haus - at Audi Field, before the end of the current campaign.

But that's also lended itself to talks over whether a potential move to the US could be pulled off.
