The agent of Emanuele Giaccherini says he is staying with Napoli.

The midfielder is battling for minutes this season under coach Maurizio Sarri.

Furio Valcareggi stated: “Could he go to Chievo in January? It's an intelligent link to make, because [Roberto] Inglese could come to Napoli in January, but they've never sought me out so I don't think so.

“I don't know anything, Chievo have never been interested otherwise they'd have sought me out.

“A lot of people like him, series clubs, in the top six in the league. The last time Emanuele Giaccherini had a beautiful, tough game was Italy-Germany, memories are long.

“For Napoli though he's unsellable, they'll need to convince me of the reasons for that, but at the moment they say he's unsellable. They've always repeated that impossibility.

“If it were up to me he could go to Roma, Juventus, Fiorentina; but if Napoli want to win the Scudetto they need someone as strong as Giaccherini on the bench.

“With him on the pitch instead of Insigne or [Jose] Callejon they'd play the same."
