The agent of Lille captain Ibrahim Amadou insists he remains in good spirits after missing out on a move to Crystal Palace last week.

Amadou traveled to London to sign for Palace on deadline day, only for the two clubs to fail to reach agreement over a fee.

Sylvain Chavanon revisited the developments last night: "Following the events that occurred in the last hours of the transfer window, it is necessary to reestablish some truths about the missed transfer of Ibrahim Amadou.

"British media, which have no contact with Ibrahim, have portrayed a player devastated by this failed transfer. Various rumors in this sense were then relayed in France (without prior verification), provoking the anger of Lille supporters against Ibrahim.

"This player did not wish to return on these events and preferred to express itself where it really counts, ie on the ground."
