The agent of Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Liverpool are trying to open new contract talks.
Klopp is under contract at Anfield until 2022 but Reds chiefs are keen to secure his long-term future after the club's incredible campaign in 2018-19.
He has been linked with taking charge of the German national team when Joachim Low leaves the job, and Klopp's agent Marc Kosicke says this could be an option somewhere down the line.
“Jurgen himself once said that in the event that Joachim Low someday no longer wants to be the national coach and it would be possible for him do that [job], this is an option for him," Kosicke told Die Welt.
But Kosicke says Klopp has no designs on leaving Liverpool any time soon, certainly not before the end of his current contract - and that no other club could afford him in any case.
“Liverpool would even like to extend it," he added. “[Jurgen] felt again at the recent celebrations [after winning the Champions League], what a great club Liverpool is, and that he is in the right place at the right time.
“Jurgen is currently not affordable. But it is difficult to measure the transfer fee in his case anyway.
"How is this going to work for a coach who has increased the club's value from nearly £900 million to just under £2.8 billion? That is not how it works."
