The agent of Jean-Philippe Gbamin has revealed Everton are close to landing the Mainz midfielder.

Bernard Collignon, speaking with Le Parisien, has revealed Everton are a step away from signing Gbamin.

He revealed, "Jean-Philippe (Gbamin) is seduced by the idea of joining Everton.

"To discover the championship of England in a club at the top of the table would represent for him a great opportunity and a very good stage."

The arrival of Gbamin is expected to see Idrissa Gueye sold by Everton to PSG.
